Over and over again, Kush and I have been extremely explicit with the fact that we aren’t advocates of synthetic pot, or spice, or whatever you want to call it. We’re both advocates of it’s ban, and we both believe that it is stupid as hell to do, which is why I bring you this article. 

How often is it that 3 people have heart attacks? How often is it that those 3 people are sixteen-year-olds? Pretty rarely. So when three sixteen-year-old boys suffered from heart attacks in the past few weeks, it’s only expected that the cases get investigated. And what’s believed to be the culprit? Synthetic Marijuana. 

Although it can’t be proven that the synthetic cannabinoids are responsible, it’s highly expected. 16-year-olds should not be prone to heart attacks, and all three of the boys admitted to smoking “spice” within a couple weeks of the heart attacks.  

Dr. Colin Kane, a pediatric cardiologist in Dallas who saw the three 16-year-olds admitted with chest pain last fall. Dr. Kane administered EKGs and blood tests, which confirmed the boys had suffered heart attacks. 

Kane acknowledges that it cannot be proven that synthetic marijuana caused the heart attacks – the teens could have used other drugs, including steroids, and lied about it. However, Kane suspects the K2 caused arteries that bring blood to the heart to spasm, which could cut off blood supply and cause a heart attack.

One of the key reasons that the synthetic cannabinoids are suspected, is because the products they’re created for are unregulated, there is no telling what other substances may be involved in the production, therefore no one really knows what they are consuming. 

Look guys, we’re not your parents, we can’t be telling you what to do and what not to do and expect you to adhere to all our commands. But please, try and steer away from this synthetic shit. It’s not doing any good for anyone.
